Avery Ehlers
Scenic Artist


Avery Ehlers is a scenic artist with eight years of experience specializing in theatrical scenery and large-scale scenic finishes. She is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Scenic Art at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), where she continues to refine her technical skills and artistic practice through a wide range of production experiences.
Avery currently serves as the Scenic Art Intern at ShowFab and as the Charge Artist for UNCSA's Almost Famous (2026). Prior to these roles, she was the Co-Charge Artist for UNCSA's Classics in Rep (2026), collaborating with fellow artists to manage multiple repertory productions simultaneously, and Lead Scenic Artist for UNCSA's A Little Night Music (2025).
Throughout her career, Avery has worked with a diverse range of professional and educational organizations, including SeaWorld San Diego, The Old Globe, the Joan B. Kroc Center, Young Actors Theatre, and Steele Canyon High School. These experiences have allowed her to contribute to productions of varying scales while developing expertise in faux finishing, texturing, aging, wood graining, painting backdrops, and collaborative production processes. Avery is passionate about using paint to support visual storytelling and enjoys working closely with designers, technical directors, and production teams to bring scenic environments to life.
